Welcome to another Wednesday, as a brand new week of Geeky Goodness gets underway! Can you believe it’s already August? Crazy.

After a lot of high-profile releases last week, this week’s comics are a little more subdued for me. The book I’m looking forward to reading the most, though, is the latest issue of BRIAN MICHAEL BENDIS‘ Justice League. Tying in to the end of his run on SUPERMAN, the Synmar is going up against the League and the newly-formed United Planets is on the way to help. Plus, more Checkmate goodness! I’m pretty happy with Bendis’ run so far.

As always, I’m buying my comics digitally, through Comixology. Most of the week’s new books are listed over at the PreviewsWorld website, though DC Comics’ new releases can be found on their own website. And the DC Digital Comics are available through DC Universe Infinite. Let’s take a look at what new comics I’ll be reading this week.

BOOM! Studios
Buffy the Vampire Slayer 28

DC Comics
Crime Syndicate 6
The Dreaming: Waking Hours 12
Green Lantern 5
Justice League 66
Justice League Infinity 2
Suicide Squad 6

DC Digital Comics
Harley Quinn: The Animated Series – The Eat. Bang. Kill Tour
The Joker Presents: A Puzzlebox 5

Beyond the world of comic books, this week is all about James Gunn’s new movie, The Suicide Squad, out Friday in theaters and streaming on HBO Max. So far, it’s looking like this film is getting a lot more love than 2016’s SUICIDE SQUAD from David Ayer, and I really can’t wait to check it out this weekend.

Also this weekend, we’ll be celebrating the 35th anniversary on Sunday of one of my favorite movies growing up, Transformers: The Movie. It’ll be a trip down memory lane as all the Autobots and Decepticons we learned to love were decimated in a final battle, just to introduce a brand new set of Robots in Disguise to be sold in toy stores. The 1980s were a much simpler time.

Sunday also brings us the latest episode of LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, back after another brief hiatus. It kicks off a pretty big week for the CW. SUPERMAN & LOIS returns on Tuesday as well, along with the second-season premiere of Stargirl.

What are you looking forward to this week? Talk about it in the comments!
