New comic book day may be in the spotlight, but once again, there’s a lot of Geek Week stuff going on in the next few days!

One month into DC Comics’ INFINITE FRONTIER, the publisher is finally giving fans a new first issue featuring the universe’s Emerald Warriors, the Green Lanterns. Instead of focusing on Hal Jordan, though, new GL writer Geoffrey Thorne is taking things in a different direction. Having stated in interviews that he’s not a fan of Jordan, Thorne’s new book puts John Stewart at the forefront, along with YOUNG JUSTICE‘s Teen Lantern, who is going to OA for the first time. I can only imagine her first meeting with the Guardians goes really well.

Outside of DC Comics, there’s some great properties continuing their amazing stories. Mad Cave Studios puts out its second issue of NOTTINGHAM; the third issue of BEAST WARS from IDW continues the war between the Maximals and the Predicons. And finally, the Buffyverse continues its introduction of an actual BUFFY multiverse! I am enjoying that ride very much.

As always, I’m buying my comics digitally, through Comixology. Most of the week’s new books are listed over at the PreviewsWorld website, though DC Comics’ new releases can be found on their own website. Let’s take a look at what I’ll be reading this week.

Beyond comics, the Geek Week still has a lot to offer! In advance of the fifth episode of Amazon Prime’s new series, Invincible, being released on Friday, I’ll be catching up on the first four episodes – and maybe diving back into the comics from which the series came! Also on Friday, the second half of THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLIDER begins with the series’ fourth episode and ProjectBlue has it for you! And of course, this weekend, Joe will be back with his latest SONG OF THE WEEK selection for your regular dose of new music.

Finally, this weekend, it’s the SHOWCASE OF THE IMMORTALS! That’s right, it’s WRESTLEMANIA WEEKEND! For the second year in a row, the event will be held over two nights. And just like FASTLANE last month, WRESTLEMANIA will be a Pea-Per-View on the Peacock streaming app!

This should go well.

What are you looking forward to this week? Let us know in the comments!
