We’re kicking off the Geek Week with a small but promising selection of brand new comics to celebrate New Comic Book Day!
I can’t believe DC Comics made me wait a whole week into this INFINITE FRONTIER thing before they gave me a new Superman book! New writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson takes over the Superman titles from Brian Bendis this week. The opening offering is part 1 of a 2-part crossover with Action Comics, bring Jon Kent back from the 31st Century to watch over his father as he battles another cosmic threat.
Other Infinite Frontier comics now on my iPad include the first issue of the Joker series. Normally, a book featuring the Clown Prince of Crime would be a pass from me, but the premise of Jim Gordon hunting down the clown after the events of his ASSAULT ON ARKHAM has me intrigued, so it gets an issue to convince me. Also out this week is the new look of Wonder Woman, fighting side-by-side with Thor in Valhalla.
Let’s take a look at what I’ll be reading this week:
Dark Horse Comics
Black Hammer Visions 2
DC Comics
The Joker 1
Rorschach 6
Superman 29
Wonder Woman 770
DC Digital Comics
Sensational Wonder Woman 10
Truth & Justice 9
Coming up later today, we’ll have a recap of the latest episode of SUPERMAN & LOIS. And keep checking back this week for more comic book reviews and, of course, Joe’s latest selection for SONG OF THE WEEK. Stay with us and don’t forget to let us know what you’ll be reading in the comments!
