The best day of the week is upon us! Wednesday is here and with it brings new comic books for everyone to enjoy!
And adding to my usual Wednesday euphoria, I get to watch the latest episode of SUPERMAN & LOIS – which has already been picked up for a second season! What a time to be alive!
Now that DC Comics’ FUTURE STATE initiative is (mostly) out of the way, it’s time to figure out just what this INFINITE FRONTIER is supposed to be about. It’s not a very deep bench for this first week. And, on some of these books, I may end up waiting the six months to read on the DC Universe Infinite app. But we’ll give things a shot here today. And maybe through the month of March. We’ll see how I feel.
In addition to the soft reboot that is the Infinite Frontier, DC Comics also gives us a pretty hard reboot of the Milestone Comics line today! Soon, we’ll be getting digital-first comics featuring Static, Icon and others, but today we get the story of the modern Big Bang in Dakota. The return of Milestone has me pretty stoked for the rest of the year.
Elsewhere, we have the second issue of the new TRANSFORMERS: BEAST WARS series from IDW, celebrating the property’s 25th anniversary with an amazing new comic. Over at BOOM! the Buffy reimagining continues and it looks like the Scooby gang is finally going to become aware of a Buffyverse multiverse! And finally, a new comic from Mad Cave Studios, Nottingham, sets a medieval crime noir as the sheriff of Nottingham hunts a serial killer known simple as the Hood. I’m pretty sure it won’t be Oliver Queen…
Let’s take a look at what I’ll be reading this week:
BOOM! Studios
Buffy the Vampire Slayer 23
DC Comics
Crime Syndicate 1
The Dreaming: Waking Hours 8
Infinite Frontier 0
Milestone Returns 0
Suicide Squad 1
DC Digital Comics
Sensational Wonder Woman 9
Truth & Justice 8
IDW Comics
Transformers: Beast Wars 2
Mad Cave Studios
Nottingham 1
Coming up later this week, we’ll have some new comics reviews, a fresh installment of the CASUAL COOKERY, a recap of the final issue of WANDAVISION and, of course, Joe’s latest selection for SONG OF THE WEEK. Stay with us and don’t forget to let us know what you’ll be reading in the comments!
