Most of the superhero film focus for the first half of 2019 is on Marvel, with both CAPTAIN MARVEL and AVENGERS: END GAME on the slate in the coming months. But don’t sleep on the former Capt. Marvel, because he’ll be featured in what looks to be a fun film this April.
SHAZAM! stars Zachary Levi as the titular hero. With all the fun moments in the trailer, it looks like Warner Bros. is staying true to the spirit of a character who turns from a kid to a superhero just by saying a magic word. With a new COMIC BOOK series out now, written by Geoff Johns with art by Dale Eaglesham, the character is getting a lot of support right now.
With Aquaman passing $1 billion worldwide, the DC Comics heroes have some cinematic momentum going for them. Hopefully, SHAZAM! doesn’t get overlooked in a pretty crowded 2019.
