There was a lot of rejoicing at STAR WARS CELEBRATION on Friday, as the first trailer for the final installment of the Skywalker saga was revealed. And with it came the episode’s title – The Rise of Skywalker.

That title is going to set off a firestorm of speculation between now and when the movie is released this December, since the only Skywalkers we know are dead. Obviously, Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker was killed in Episode VIII and his twin sister Leia’s involvement will likely be minimal since actress Carrie Fisher died shortly after THE LAST JEDI completed filming. So does that push the focus on Kylo Ren, the son of Leia and Han Solo? Or does the title refer to Daisy Ridley’s Rey, who was left as the titular final knight in the last episode?

And that laughter at the end… that’s pretty familiar. I wonder what it can all mean.

STAR WARS EPISODE IX – THE RISE OF SKYWALKER, directed by JJ Abrams, will be in theaters this December. What do you think will happen to close out the trilogy of trilogies? Let us know in the comments.
