Lots of good stuff coming out of the House of Ideas this week – on the big screen, the small screen and things in-between!

The biggest talker for a while is probably the trailer for CAPTAIN MARVEL, the next installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Starring Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, a human given immense power when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. The movie, planned for a March 2019 release, is set in the 1990s, which means the last AVENGERS movie, which teased this film in its credit scene, shouldn’t have any impact. Thanos’ actions, though, will probably loom large.

As much as I’m looking forward to that movie, I’m pretty apathetic towards our next entry today. The second season of the NETFLIX Marvel series IRON FIST is less than a month away, and we have a trailer to hype it. The first season was probably the worst of the Defenders build-up shows, and Danny Rand didn’t really get interesting until he teamed up with Luke Cage, first in THE DEFENDERS and then in the second season of LUKE CAGE earlier this year. But we have a new showrunner this time around, with fewer episodes, and hopefully that will be enough to re-energize things to be a little more appealing.

The second season of Iron Fist drops on Netflix on September 7.

Thankfully, we have something else to look forward to on September 7 – the Sony PlayStation 4 exclusive title SPIDER-MAN! Yesterday, we got a gameplay trailer, with J. Jonah Jameson doing a call-in show talking about the web-crawler as we take a look at the amazing scenes we have to look forward to. New York City looks fantastic, Spider-Man’s moves look sick and I am so excited for this game.

What are you looking forward to in the coming weeks? Let us know in the comments!
