We’re just more than two weeks away from my favorite holiday of all – it’s my birthday, of course – but we can’t let these things distract from the importance of new comic book day!

The first issue of Cliff Chiang’s Catwoman: Lonely City puts us in a whole new Gotham City, one where Batman and the Joker are long dead. Selina Kyle gets out of prison and must deal with a new way of things, with Mayor Harvey Dent in charge. I loved Chiang’s art on the New 52 Wonder Woman with writer Brian Azzarello all those years ago and, really, that’s what’s got me picking this book up, too. The price is a little steep for this Black Label miniseries – $6.99! – but I’m hoping it’s worth it.

Speaking of Catwoman, the latest issue of Tom King’s BATMAN/CATWOMAN is out today and… I’m not sure I still care about this story any more. I may have to throw in the towel and just wait for the series to show up on the DC Universe Infinite app.

Also out this week is the final issue of the prequel miniseries that’s meant to lead in to Kevin Smith’s MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE: REVELATIONS. With the time between part 1 and part 2 of the Netflix series, this might have been better served as a story to bridge the gap between the two. We’re now three months removed from the first 5 episodes dropping on Netflix and still a month away from the second half debuting. Either way, I’m in, because I’ve always been a big HE-MAN fan, and this will be a good way to prepare myself to rewatch the show.

As always, I’m buying my comics digitally, through Comixology. Most of the week’s new books are listed over at the PreviewsWorld website, though DC Comics’ new releases can be found on their own website. And the DC Digital Comics are available through DC Universe Infinite. Let’s take a look at what new comics I’ll be reading this week.

Dark Horse Comics
Masters of the Universe: Revelation 4

DC Comics
Batman/Catwoman 8
Catwoman: Lonely City 1
Green Lantern 7
Nightwing 85
Suicide Squad 8
The Flash 775

There was a lot of stuff that dropped during the DC Fandome event last week and I’m still processing some of it. There’s a lot going on and a lot to look forward to.

New episodes of Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman are on tonight and the final episode of Titans season 3 hits HBO Max tomorrow. A new episode of Young Justice season 4 is on the streamer on Friday.

What are you looking forward to this week? Talk about it in the comments.
