It’s new comic book day with a bang this week. The weather outside Geekery headquarters is amazing right now, so I’ll be outside reading some comics under a nice big tree for some shade!
When DC Comics presented FUTURE STATE earlier this year, Yara Flor was Wonder Woman, working with the Justice League and with new Superman Jon Kent, but readers weren’t given her backstory or how she took the mantle of Wonder Woman. Now, as the publisher continues through its INFINITE FRONTIER, it’s time to give the character a proper introduction as a brand new Wonder Girl. The wonderful Joelle Jones writers and draws the debut issue out this week.
The latest issue of NIGHTWING also comes out this week, and I’ve been digging what Tom Taylor has been doing with the character. I love that Barbara Gordon is a regular supporting character as Dick Grayson looks to return to a normal(?) life as a new billionaire in Blüdhaven.
As always, I’m buying my comics digitally, through Comixology. Most of the week’s new books are listed over at the PreviewsWorld website, though DC Comics’ new releases can be found on their own website. Let’s take a look at what I’ll be reading this week.

Beyond comic books, I’ll hopefully have a review of the latest episode of SUPERMAN & LOIS up soon and next week will be another (hopefully) great episode of LEGENDS OF TOMORROW. On another note, I have four episodes left in my first-ever watch of HBO’s GAME OF THRONES. As the show is celebrating its “Iron Anniversary” this year (which had nothing to do with my finally watching the series, actually), I may jot down some thoughts on the show once I finish watching.
With any luck, Joe will be back from his secret mission and we’ll get a brand new SONG OF THE WEEK as well.
