Let’s finish off the weekend with a look at the week that was and the things that are happening in the Geekery world.
• With JUSTICE LEAGUE less than two months from release, word is circulating this week that Joss Whedon may have cut a couple of side characters from the film completely. Latino Review reported that Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor has been edited out of the film, while Batman on Film has said that Kiersey Clemons’ Iris West has been left on the cutting room floor. I wonder if, at some point, there will be a Whedon cut and a Snyder cut of the movie released.
• FINAL FANTASY XV is getting a new expansion later this fall, the multiplayer Comrads, set for an October 31 release. Players will be able to create their own character and go on quests with friends online. The expansion will be available as a standalone purchase and free to Season Pass holders.
This Week at the Geekery
• Uncle Dave is back with his latest BIG STEAMING PILE, which looks at a game set during the Iranian revolution, 1979 Revolution: Black Friday.
• Joe was all about the music this week, first with a review of Arcade Fire’s MSG concert in FROM THE CHEAP SEATS and then again with his latest SONG OF THE WEEK, featuring Charlotte Gainsbourg’s “Deadly Valentine.”
