Let’s finish off the weekend with a look at the week that was and the things that are happening in the Geekery world.
• With the Netflix release of Marvel’s THE PUNISHER expected in the next few months, word is that the second season of JESSICA JONES has wrapped production. New seasons of LUKE CAGE, DAREDEVIL and IRON FIST are expected as well.
• Syfy is looking to bring another George R.R. Martin property to series. According to Deadline, the network is looking to develop the author’s novel, NIGHTFLYERS, about a group of scientists attacked by their spaceship’s evil computer while out searching for an alien creature.
• Sticking with Syfy, the network has made a casting announcement for KRYPTON, the TV show about the members of Superman’s family no one has heard of. The show’s lone familiar character, Adam Strange, will be played by Shaun Sipos.
This Week at the Geekery:
• We had a pair of movie reviews this week, as Friend of the Geekery ProjectBlue reviewed Stephen King’s IT and I lost my damned mind and watched BAYWATCH, starring the Rock.
• Our latest column, RETRO MOVIE NERD, came out to play with a look at 1979’s The Warriors.
• In comics, the latest issue of Dark Nights: Metal left me with a case of WTF. And ACTION COMICS caused a stir with Superman actually saving people!
Last but not least, Joe’s SONG OF THE WEEK is Philip Selway’s “Walk.”
