We are well into the summer and this New Comic Book Day is going to be a scorcher!
It’s a Wonder Comics invasion this week, as three books from the pop-up imprint at DC Comics are on comics store shelves. We get new issues of NAOMI, WONDER TWINS and YOUNG JUSTICE, which means my pull list is going to be so much fun.
Jeff Lemire’s BLACK HAMMER universe from Dark Horse has been one of the best new worlds to explore over the last few years, and this week we get a crossover with DC Comics’ premiere superteam, the Justice League. I can’t wait to see how Lemire throws this two universes together in this 5-issue miniseries.
Not to be out-done, DC Comics is releasing the second issue of EVENT LEVIATHAN. With new issues of SUPERGIRL and SUPERMAN coming out, too, it’s a big week for the Man of Steel!
UPDATED! I can’t believe I forgot about the first issue of Mark Russell’s SECOND COMING, about Jesus’ return to Earth… as a superhero!
