Song of the Week: Lou Doillon – “Burn”

A willowy, graceful bop.

Lou Doillon is one of those artists with a seemingly-bottomless well of talent across multiple fields. She’s an established film and theatre actor, as well as a model. And that’s before we get to her music career. Now prepping her third album, Doillon returns with “Burn.”

The song piles up grooves on top of each other, all anchored by her smoky vocals. The sinewy guitar recalls the best of 80s post-punk, but with a touch of blues as well. If you’re looking for a new track that will let you dance around the room, “Burn” is the song for you. With this track, Doillon’s win streak shows no signs of slowing down.

Her new album, Soliloquy, will drop on Feb. 1, 2019.
