Friday means a lot of new stuff to get excited about! And I’m not just talking about the weekend!

If you’re looking to head out to the theaters this weekend, WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES is now out nationwide. The latest APE installment has Caesar beginning a “mythic quest to avenge his kind.

Also today is the wide release expansion of THE BIG SICK and limited release of WISH UPON starring Joey King and Ryan Phillippe; and BLIND, starring Alec Baldwin and Demi Moore.

Over on Netflix, we get a new original series, FRIENDS FROM COLLEGE, starring Keegan-Michael Key and Cobie Smulders as a part of six friends who went to Harvard together who reunite in their 40s to try and get over some level of mid-life crisis. The first season of eight episodes debuts on Netflix today.

Also dropping on Netflix today is TO THE BONE. Written and directed by Marti Noxon (a producer on BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, ANGEL, MAD MEN and more) and starring Keaunu Reeves, the film is partially based on Noxon’s own experiences battling anorexia.

For music, JAPANESE BREAKFAST releases its new album, Soft Sounds From Another Planet. A single from the album, “Road Head,” was Joe’s Song of the Week last week.

What are you excited about this weekend? Talk about that and whatever you want right here.
