After a light week of comic books last week, I thought this week might be a bit more substantial, but I forgot it’s the dreaded “Fifth Week,” which is usually on the light side. The price tag this time around, though, may still be hefty.
The final issue of HEROES IN CRISIS and the latest issue of DOOMSDAY CLOCK highlight the week from DC Comics, along with a LEVIATHAN special which sets up a number of big summer happenings. With the $9.99 price tag for the Leviathan special, I’m going to have to pass on the first issue of Scott Snyder’s BATMAN: LAST KNIGHT ON EARTH ($5.99) and the CATWOMAN and DETECTIVE COMICS annuals ($4.99 each). I wasn’t even considering the DC DOG DAYS OF SUMMER special (also $9.99), featuring stories of heroes and their super-pets. They’ll all be on the DC Universe app in a year.
