All Eyez On Me – The cinematic story of rapper, actor, poet and activist Tupac Shakur, starring Demetrius Shipp Jr. and Danai Gurira (DVD/Blu-Ray release: Sept. 5).

The Mummy – Tom Cruise’s reboot of the Universal movie monsters franchise where an ancient princess is awakened by a tomb raider (DVD/Blu-Ray release: Sept. 12).

New on Blu-Ray

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – The sequel to the surprise Marvel hit sees the team try to unravel the mysteries behind Star Lord’s parentage.

My Blue Heaven – One of my favorite movies gets a Blu-Ray release! The movie features Steve Martin as a New York mafioso is put into witness protection in suburban California. Rick Moranis and Joan Cusack co-star.

New Video Games

Uncharted: Lost Legacy (PS4) – The Naughty Dog release sees Chloe Frazier seeking the Tusk of Ganesh in the mountains of India during a civil war.

New Books

Elvis: The Legend: The Authorized Book from the Graceland® Archives by Gillian G. Gaar – An extensive look at the career of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, including his friends, his music, his movies and his lasting legacy. 

Freud: The Making of an Illusion by Frederick Crews – A look at the works of Sigmund Freud, picking into his legend as a great psychoanalyst and how that reputation may be little more than just good PR.

The House of Government: A Saga of the Russian Revolution by Yuri Slezkine – On the 100th anniversary of the Russian Revolution, this book “tells the true story of the residents of an enormous Moscow apartment building where top Communist officials and their families lived before they were destroyed in Stalin’s purges.”
