Let’s finish off the weekend with a look at the week that was and the things that are happening in the Geekery world.

According to a post on Sylvester Stallone’s Instagram account, the CREED sequel may be getting a 2018 release date:

Continuing the ongoing saga of THE JOKER, the most recent actor to put on the white make-up, Jared Leto, is none too pleased with Warner Bros. plans for a new actor to take on the character. The Hollywood Reporter says that the actor has voiced his displeasure with his agents after he was “caught off-guard” by the Joker news.

Sony’s plans for its own Spider-verse may include a NIGHTWATCH movie, and the studio hopes to make it a Spike Lee joint. I didn’t even know who Nightwatch was until this rumor started circulating. The character, who first appeared in 1993, is apparently a doctor who treats a costumed person, only to find the patient is an older version of himself! That’s a neat gimmick…

Comic book fans and roller coaster enthusiasts will have some new rides to hit, as DC Comics’ Cyborg, Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn are all getting coasters themed after them. Cyborg’s ride is coming to Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey; Six Flags Fiesta Texas will get the Wonder Woman Golden Lasso ride and the Wonder Woman Coaster will open in Mexico; Harley Quinn will get Spinsanity at Six Flags New England and the Harley Quinn Crazy Coaster at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Northern California.
