Fourteen years after breaking through the zeitgeist, there are still many entries into the Marvel Cinematic Universe that I’ve never seen. Now that I have a brand new 65-inch UHD television in my living room, I thought it might be time to change that.

We’re rounding out our first Top 5 with a trip back to World War II and an introduction to Steve Rogers, kid from Brooklyn.

Captain America: The First Avenger
Directed by Joe Johnston
Screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely
Release Date: July 22, 2011

I’ve already reviewed CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER a few years back, and after watching it again last night, I realize my thoughts about the movie really haven’t changed. It’s a great film that sets the stage for a lot of the next phase of the MCU. Feel free to give that link a click to check out the original review before we move on.

Ranking the MCU

We have a new number 1! Tony Stark’s introduction to the world had a stranglehold on the top spot for a while, but I just loved Cap’s first film too much to not give this movie the number one position. Let’s take a look:

  1. Captain America: The First Avenger
  2. IRON MAN
  3. THOR
  4. IRON MAN 2
  5. THE INCREDIBLE HULK

Next up, we close up Phase 1 of the MCU as Nick Fury finally puts his team together to fight the Battle for New York!

Stay tuned, true believers.
