The weekend is here, and if you have nothing better to do, you can spend it in this open thread for Saturday and Sunday! Let’s take a look at what’s been happening this week.
• Yesterday, Fox released a trailer for X-MEN: THE NEW MUTANTS that felt more like a horror movie than a superhero flick. Let’s take a look:
The movie will follow five young mutants who are discovering their abilities while hidden away in a secret facility. The New Mutants stars Maisie Williams Anya Taylor-Joy and Charlie Heaton, and is set for an April 2018 debut.
• Before he passed away earlier this year, LEN WEIN was working on a new SWAMP THING story for DC Comics. The work will be printed in SWAMP THING SPECIAL 1, set for Jan. 31. The issue will include a brand new Swamp Thing story by writer Tom King and artist Jason Fabok.
• According to The Hollywood Reporter, MGM Studios is working on an animated reboot of THE ADDAMS FAMILY, helmed by Conrad Vernon, who co-directed Sausage Party and Shrek 2.
• Latino Review ran with a rumor from a random Instagram post that the trailer for JURASSIC WORLD 2 will be attached to STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI.
• IGN reports that actor Mark Ruffalo has stated that The Hulk’s appearance in THOR: RAGNAROK kicks off a three-movie arc for the big green guy, continuing in the next two AVENGERS movies. The character still won’t get another stand-alone film, though.
Still to come this weekend at The Geekery, Joe will have his SONG OF THE WEEK (check out his Spotify playlist up top to listen to past selections in one handy link), I’ll have more comic reviews and the debut of the ARROWVERSE POWER RANKINGS!
