You know, when they announced the title of the new Spider-Man movie, and given the end of AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR, you’d think the title FAR FROM HOME had something to do with him being out in space. Turns out, he’s just going to Europe on a school trip.
SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME comes out two months after AVENGERS: END GAME gets released, so it’s a pretty safe bet that movie ends with Peter Parker unsnapped, along with Black Panther, Doctor Strange, the Guardians of the Galaxy and everyone else who has a viable sequel in them somewhere. Oh, and Nick Fury, who seems to play a major part in this film. But how? No clues here, obviously.
This trailer was all about Peter Parker visiting various locations in Europe and Happy Hogan hitting on Aunt May. Oh, and Jake Gyllenhaal in a pretty good Mysterio costume.
Everyone is doing backflips trying to discern some clues about END GAME based on this trailer, but that’s just silly. There’s no way Marvel allows Sony to give anything – no matter how small – away in a trailer that isn’t their own.
There’s a lot of time between now and July 5, when FAR FROM HOME gets released, and we have a couple Marvel movies to tide us over. I’m really looking forward to the next six months.
