Our latest poll is all over the place, with four great movies that range from the superheroic to the fight against communism. Let’s see what’s on the slate this week.
Four movies, picked at random, are vying for the chance to be the next movie I watch and recap here at The Casual Geekery. Let’s take a look at the four movies being included in this latest poll, along with the synopsis for each movie.
Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014) – A washed-up actor (Michael Keaton), who once played an iconic superhero, attempts to revive his career by writing and starring in his very own Broadway play. The movie won four Academy Awards – Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Cinematography.
Good Night, and Good Luck (2005) – Written, directed and starring George Clooney, the movie focuses on the threat of Communism that created an air of paranoia in the United States. Exploiting those fears was Senator Joseph McCarthy of Wisconsin. However, CBS reporter Edward R. Murrow and his producer Fred W. Friendly decided to take a stand and challenge McCarthy and expose him for the fear monger he was.
Much Ado About Nothing (2012)– A modern retelling of Shakespeare’s classic comedy about two pairs of lovers with different takes on romance and a way with words. Written and directed by Joss Whedon while he was filming THE AVENGERS.
Superman II (1980) – Superman agrees to sacrifice his powers to start a relationship with Lois Lane, unaware that three Kryptonian criminals he inadvertently released are conquering Earth.
Those are your options this time around. In our last poll, CLERKS II took the vote, so we’ll head to Mooby’s to check in on Dante and Randall. Look for that later this week. Until then, head on over to the Geekery’s Twitter page and vote for your favorite option of this bunch.
We're back with a new poll for #MoviesAtRandom! Pick your favorite of the 4 for @stevenferrari to watch next!
