No superheroes in this poll, just a selection of maladjusted human beings trying to find their way in the world in the ninth Movies At Random poll.

Four movies, picked at random, are vying for the chance to be the next movie I watch and recap here at The Casual Geekery. Let’s take a look at the four movies being included in this latest poll, along with the synopsis for each movie.

Clerks 2 (2006) – 12 years after the original, director Kevin Smith returns to the characters in his first feature film to catch up on their lives. A calamity at Dante and Randal’s shops sends them looking for new horizons – but they ultimately settle at the fast food empire Mooby’s. This would be the second Smith film if selected, as DOGMA was one of our earlier reviews.

The Great Gatsby (2013) – Baz Luhrman’s adaptation of the F. Scott Fitzgerald book. A writer and wall street trader, Nick, finds himself drawn to the past and lifestyle of his millionaire neighbor, Jay Gatsby.

Rocky Balboa (2006) – Thirty years after the ring of the first bell, Rocky Balboa comes out of retirement and dons his gloves for his final fight; against the reigning heavyweight champ Mason ‘The Line’ Dixon. The previous film in the series, ROCKY V, was the first movie to get reviewed in the series.

Thank You For Smoking (2005) – Satirical comedy from director Jason Reitman follows the machinations of Big Tobacco’s chief spokesman, Nick Naylor, who spins on behalf of cigarettes while trying to remain a role model for his twelve-year-old son.

Those are your options this time around. In our last poll, MULTIPLICITY took the vote, so we’ll get a whole bunch of Michael Keaton’s running amok. Look for that later this week. Until then, head on over to the Geekery’s Twitter page and vote for your favorite option of this bunch.
