This is probably one of my favorite things on the Internet, hands down. When YouTube was created, it should have been specifically made for something like this.
I know this video is a little old – it was posted to YouTube sometime last year – but after someone shared it on my Facebook feed recently, I think I’ve watched it about a dozen times. It’s a barbershop quartet called Afternoon Delight doing a rendition of Shaggy’s “It Wasn’t Me.”
On the Manchester, England-based band’s ArtistTrove page, the members are listed as: Tenor – Angel Delight; Lead – Turkish Delight; Baritone – Shepherd’s Delight; Bass – Sonny Delight. They certainly have a sense of humor, and it shows in this amazing rendition of the 2000 Shaggy song.
I don’t think I’m going out on a limb saying that the Barbershop version of the song may be better than the original.
With a quick Google of the band, I also found the quartet doing a rendition of Justin Timberlake’s “SexyBack,” and I had to include it as a bonus.
