It’s time to select the next movie for our new column, MOVIES AT RANDOM, and this time, I reached out for a little help!
Four movies, picked at random, are vying for the chance to be the next movie I watch and recap here at The Casual Geekery. This group of flicks was chosen by my buddy Jared. Give him a follow on Twitter so he can continue to wonder why anyone does that. Let’s take a look at the four movies being included in this latest poll, along with the synopsis for each movie.
Beauty and the Beast (1991) – One of the best animated films Disney ever made, kicking off a string of amazing feature films. A young woman whose father has been imprisoned by a terrifying beast offers herself in his place, unaware that her captor is actually a prince, physically altered by a magic spell.
Hollywoodland (2006) – Struggling private investigator Louis Simo treats his work more as a means to make a living than a want to do right by what few clients he has. Through connections with the investigation firm for which he used to work, Simo is hired by Helen Bessolo to investigate the death of her son, actor George Reeves, who played Superman on the TV show Adventures of Superman.
Looper (2012) – In 2074, when the mob wants to get rid of someone, the target is sent into the past, where a hired gun awaits – someone like Joe – who one day learns the mob wants to ‘close the loop’ by sending back Joe’s future self for assassination.
¡Three Amigos! (1986) – Three actors accept an invitation to a Mexican village to perform their onscreen bandit fighter roles, unaware that it is the real thing.
