wonder-woman-poster

The new Wonder Woman movie doesn’t hit until June 2, 2017, but Warner Bros. just dropped the a new trailer and new posters (including the one above) for the next installment in the DC Cinematic Universe!

Starring Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, the film will follow the world’s most famous female hero as she leaves the island of Themyscira, a sheltered nation of warrior women, after Trevor crash lands on the island and tells her of the “War to End All Wars,” which places the setting of the film as World War I. Sure, this is about 25-30 years before Wonder Woman was created in 1941, but it’s Hollywood…

From the second trailer above, the movie, directed by Patty Jenkins (Monster) looks amazing. Gadot absolutely stole the show in Batman v. Superman, and despite that movie’s low critical rating, there are high expectations for Wonder Woman. The new trailer shows off some more action along with some humor at the end, with Lucy Davis’ portrayal of Etta Candy.

I also love the visuals, including the glowing Lasso in some of the battle scenes. The island locations look gorgeous as well, and despite some of the darker scenes set during the war, I’m hopeful that the movie portrays a lighter tone than was presented in Man of Steel or Batman v. Superman. I am so stoked for this movie. June 2017 can’t get here fast enough!
